Why Are There Many Chinatowns in the World?

Spread the love

The number is almost a fifth of the earth’s population, the most populous country in the world. So big, the population of this country is even the same as the population of North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, to Western Europe combined into one! But, it’s not only that, but in fact, the residents of this one country are also… everywhere! How come? Why are there many chinatowns in the world?

And… will they rule the world?!

If you want to know why they are everywhere, the answer can be very long! Starting from the elements of geography, and history, to also … government policies! What is clear, their distribution is helped by a legendary path of all time. What path is that?

The answer: the silk route! No, not because the path is covered in fine, luxurious fabrics. But because it is located near a major river and is in the Eurasian zone. People from China are known as a thriving civilization who take advantage of this route for trade.

From the BC era, it was they who climbed the mountain and passed through the valley to sell objects which eventually became the name for this one route.

It’s Not Just Trading

But, it’s not just selling, this route also opens up political relations, the spread of religion, technology, science. And of course, life between peoples! It was from here that the Chinese people began to live, settle, and form resident communities in the countries they visited.

That relationship continued for hundreds of years, opening up other economic routes, and developing merchant ships. Until finally… they became the economic giants they are today!

The internal crisis also forced them to leave their country. For example, when the cruel invaders came, a deadly disease outbreak began to attack, or the government made the wrong policy. Hmm, the Chinese Government is also sometimes confused about its population.

For example, some leader said that if you have many children, you will have a lot of fortune. But in the future, it will prohibit people from having many offspring. The increasingly dense population in their own country also often forces them to get out of their comfort zone and settle in foreign places far away.

In this global era, I think the time has come to be open to change, travel, explore the contents of the world, or even pursue knowledge as far as China.
